Launching the First International Al-Fursan Lounge

13th of Feb., 2017_ In a ceremony featuring the attendance of a multitude of diplomats from the Kingdom embassy in Cairo,senior officials from Cairo International Airport, specialists of air transport industry, and throng of journalists, His Excellency Eng. Saleh N. al-Jasser, the Director General of Saudia Arabian Airlines, launched the first International ALFURSAN Lounge in Cairo international Airport, the first lounge of its kind outside the Kingdom.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, al-Jasser and his companions toured the lounge which includes a relaxing area where the guest can avert from the hustle and bustle of the airport terminal, prayer area where one could enjoy tranquility and calming atmosphere to perform his/her prayers, a library to unwind with interesting books or catch up on the news with a wide range of magazines and newspapers, fully-equipped business facility, buffet using the best of best ingredients, family area and kids’ zone with gaming consoles to occupy them.

Al-Jasser expressed his pleasure with the fascinating design and the highly advanced equipment of the lounge. He thanked the officials of the airport for their cooperation and strong support. “Even in such a critical economic situation,” al-Jasser declared, “the operation performance of our flights to the Egyptian destinations keeps normal, thus, we are ready to operate more routes to Egypt whenever it will serve the needs of our valued guests.”

For his parts, Majdi Isaaq, chairman of the board of directors of Cairo International Airport, expressed his impression of the super advanced lounge, asserting that it is perfectly harmonized with the architectural design of the new terminal. “I would like to congratulate His Excellency the Director General of Saudia and his assistance for such an eye-catching achievement. I was pleased by what I saw in the new state-of-the-art lounge which in turn will help in providing top-notch services to the guests of Saudia” Isaaq stated.

Wajdi M. al-Ghabban, CEO of SAAC, affirmed that the super advanced equipment and the state-of-the-art design of the lounge reflect the unique trailblazing position of Saudia. This achievement has been added to the series of Saudia’s list of successes which include launching (23) ALFURSAN and WELCOME lounges.

The 1500-square-foot al-Fursan lounge, which accommodate almost 250 guests at time (will increase to 300 guests at the next stage), features state-of-the-art amenities and unmatched luxury, from high-class waiting area, ultimate dining experience in a splendid buffet with local and international specialties, TVs and flights-monitoring screens, a fully equipped business space with private desks and internet access, to kids’ zone for children to enjoy video games and other interesting activities.

Al-Jasser toured the new terminal (2) to which Saudia shifted its operations lately and equipped it with 22 check-in counters and self-service kiosks, in addition to 9 offices in building (A) to provide service and supervise operations. During his tour, al-Jasser meet Majdi Isaaq, chairman of the board of directors of Cairo International Airport, Major General Fahmi Mujahid, Assistant Minister of the Interior, Hani al-Adawi, President of Civil Aviation Authority, and Eng Said Mahrous, President of the Egyptian Company for airports and Air Navigation where they discussed and explored the common ways and means of cooperation to provide top-notch service and increase operational performance of Saudia which is the second largest carrier in Cairo airport after Egypt air.
