Prince Sultan Aviation Academy Breaks Training Record

Comparing to the statistics of the period from Jan. to Sept. 2015, Prince Sultan Aviation Academy (PSAA) sets a new record in the integrated training programs provided topilots, air service crew, operational service staff, resource management and safety crew in Saudi Arabian Airlines. Moreover,as a part of its strategic plan to permanently improve its systems and technical infrastructure, the academy has conducted a comprehensive update to its all hardware platforms and animated simulators.

The period from Jan. to Sept. 2016 saw a historical peak in the total number of training hours which has been increased to (36,061)hours (+22% compared to the same period last year). Moreover, the number of trainees increased up to(14,818) trainees (+ 24%) from all sectors in the Saudi Arabian Airlines.Furthermore, the academy also sets record regarding the efficiency of simulators and training classes, by achieving (22605) hours of training (+18%, “3500 hours” compared to the last year).

Captain Badr A. Al-Olayan, the Managing Director of the strategic unit in PSAA, clarifies that the training programs and methodology are recognized internationally by Boeing, Airbus, EASA, and GACA, and that the academy contributed greatly in the preparation and rehabilitation of national cadres in the fields of aviation and its sciences.

Al-Olayan stated that the academy rehabilitated Saudi cadres through its specialized training programs which aim to enhance performance and keep up with the latest aeronautic technologies ever. Dozens of Saudi trainees have been qualified and prepared to substitute the foreign competencies.

Al-Olayan averred that the academy is preparing to implement its operational training plan for 2017 which is expected to witness a further increase in training hours and the number of trainees to assimilate the increase in Saudia’s fleet. The academy diversifiedits services which are provided not only to the staff of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation, but also to many other national and international airlines and institutions. Al-Olayan emphasized that what had been achieved during the last and the current year enhanced the position of the academy as a specialized global training center.
