

Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA), the national airline of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has achieved record success in the month of October, carrying 2.370.000 guests, up 12 per cent compared to last year. During the period from January to October 2017, the airline saw the busiest months carrying 27.000.000 guests on board 173.000 flights (441K hours of fly, +21%).
In last October, SAUDIA operated 16.3K flights (41.5K hours of fly, +16%), 10K of them on domestic routes, and 6.3K on international ones through its two main hubs in Jeddah and Madinah. Moreover, the airline delivered two new aircraft, A330 and A320, during the same month. The airline is already operating an ultra-sophisticated fleet of 143 aircraft include b777, b787 Dreamliner, A320, and A330, in addition to the fleets of Flyadeal, Al Bayraq, and Saudia Cargo.
His Excellency Eng. Saleh Al Jasser, the Director General of SAUDIA, said: “The airline’s strategy of transformation, coupled with its matchless commitment to quality and service, has delivered record results and soaring guests’ growth by pumping more capacity on both domestic and International routes”.
Eng. Al Jasser declared that “to provide the guests with more convenient and more personalized digital travel experience, SAUDIA is implementing a comprehensive update and improvement in its eServices and IFE system”. SAUDIA’s mobile app has delivered 278.000 check-ins, up 89 per cent compared to October 2016. During the period from January till October, 2.4M guests organized their journeys directly on the app, up 87 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Eng. Al Jasser lauded the efforts of SAUDIA’s staff in all its strategic business units and affiliates, affirming the commitment of the flag carrier to further expand its network to cater for the growing travel demand both domestically and internationally. Launching five new destinations this year, reconfirm the airline’s pledge to connecting its valued guests to more destinations across the globe.
