



Taking Place February 28-29, 2020 in Riyadh at King Abdulaziz Race Track
JEDDAH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announces it is a Platinum sponsor and the Official Airline Partner of the inaugural Saudi Cup equestrian race.
Held under the patronage of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, its takes place 28-29 February in the nation’s capital, Riyadh at the King Abdulaziz Race Track.
The Saudi Cup two-day racing event will include 16 races. It will also feature Saudi Arabia’s very first races on a turf track.
In total, King Abdulaziz Racecourse will host sixty one overseas runners from eight countries who between them have won 34 Group or Grade 1 races.
The highlight of the card, the first running of the world’s most valuable race, will see the Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Abdulaziz-owned Mucho Gusto, take on Group 1 winning stablemate McKinzie as well as the might of heavy hitting Group 1 star, Maximum Security.
In addition to being the Official Airline Partner, SAUDIA is also the Title Sponsor of the $1.5 million SAUDIA Sprint, a 1200m dirt race that will feature some of the world’s fastest horses.

The airline’s cargo division, SAUDIA Cargo, will be involved in the handling of the international runners travelling to Riyadh for the races. SAUDIA Cargo is specialized and internationally certified in the aero transport of animals.
