His Excellency the Director General, his Guests and media attending the official opening event were taken on tour of the 545-square facility and were shown the various features and unique amenities of the terminal, from the state-of the-art counters, to the most up-to-date technology in baggage wrapping, to a highly-serene prayer room.

To reinforce our unequivocal commitment to providing our valued guests with the best possible service, we launched City Terminals to facilitate travel experience especially in peak seasons.” Eng. Al Jasser said.

To provide a more seamless and hassle free travel experience, 5 counters (one of them for guests with special needs) at the new facility will allow guests to not only check-in with ease 24-8 hours before departure time (except departures to USA and UK), but also drop off their luggage, receive their boarding pass, and avoid the never-ending long queues that snake around the airport entrance and proceed directly to immigration.

Located in the heart of Jeddah, the check-in facility operates throughout the week from 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., effectively targeting the peak travel times. SAUDIA was encouraged to expand its check-in facilities in more cities after receiving positive feedback for the similar facilities in both Riyadh and Dammam.

Approved baggage must meet size and weight restrictions of Saudia. If the number of pieces of luggage exceeds the weight limit, the passenger will be requested to pay a fee either at the facility or online. Additional baggage allowance for Alfuran and SkyTeam members accepted according to regulations. Guests are not allowed to get the benefits of the new city terminal facility less than 8 hours before their scheduled departure time.
