Saudia Launches its Direct Flights to Algiers

After only two days of launching its direct flights to Ankara, Saudia operates its flights to another international destination, Algiers. Thus, Saudia has successfully accomplished one of its transformational plan aiming to operate four international destinations during 2016. In last March, Saudia expanded its international network to include the capital of Maldives, Malé, followed by Munich in last July.

Guests, travelling on the first flight (SV0341) to Houari Boumediene Airport, were fare welled by His Excellency Eng. Saleh N. al-Jasser and Saudia staffat King Abdul-Aziz International Airport. Moreover, special kiosks were dedicated to provide service to them.

The first flight, operated by B777-300ER, arrived at Houari Boumediene Airport, Algiers on Monday 21st , Nov., 2016 at (02:50). Dr. Fahad al-Jarbou, VP Marketing and Product Management, and a multitude of Saudia’s officials were onboard and received by President of Algeria's National Hajj and Umrah Office, the director of Saudia station at Algiers, and a number of officials at the airport.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the commencement of launching direct flights from Algiers to both Jeddah and Madinah, memorials were exchanged and guests were farewelled. The flights become operational with (SV0340) departed at (04:35) and arrived at King Adbulaziz International Airport at (11:20).

Eng. Al-Jasser declared that launching the direct flights between Jeddah/Riyadh and Algiers is part of Saudia’s Transformation Program aiming to expand international network, increase seating capacity, and enhance and modernize the fleet. Al-Jasser avers that Saudia’s network will be further expanded next year.

“We are pleased,” al-Jasser said, “that we have successfully accomplished one of our transformational plan aiming to operate four international destinations during 2016, include: Maldives, Munich, Ankara, and finally Algiers. And we are honored to provide world-class services especially for our valued pilgrims.”

4-weekly scheduled flights will be operated to and from Algiers, two of them will be operated from King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (on Sunday and Friday), and the other two from Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Madinah (on Monday, and Wednesday).

The flights will be operated by both B777-300ER which contains (413) seats, (30) of which on business class, and (383) on the economy, and B777-200 which contains (341) seats, (14) of which on business class, and (327) seats on economy class.
