Prince Fahd commissions new B777-300ER

HH Prince Fahd bin Abdullah, president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and chairman of SAUDIA’s board of directors commissioned the airline’s new Boeing 777-300ER at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Monday the 22nd of December 2014, in the presence of Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, director general of SAUDIA, and other senior executives and media representatives.

The arrival of such new aircraft will help SAUDIA strengthen its network of flights and operate flights to new international destinations. It will also contribute to increasing SAUDIA’s market share in the back drop of growing Haj and Umrah traffic and international passengers.


The aircraft is made of modern material that reduces its weight and increases its economic efficiency. It is also one of the environment-friendly planes. Seats in its business class can be turned 180 degrees to use as a complete bed.


Passengers on board the aircraft will be able to use Internet and mobile phones and enjoy the best audiovisual entertainment systems.


The new aircraft has 30 seats in the business class and 351 seats in the guest class.
