BARSA Meeting Reviews Haj Preparations

The Board of Airline Representatives in Saudi Arabia (BARSA) held its annual meeting on Sunday (October 11, 2010) at Meridian Hotel in Jeddah. Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Hazmi, Deputy Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines and Chairman of BARSA, presided over the meeting. Representatives of various government departments and airline companies took part in the meeting to discuss preparations for this year’s Haj season.

In his opening address, Mr. Al-Hazmi underscored the efforts to Saudi Arabian Airlines and other air carriers to improve the services being rendered to the guests of God. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has given his instructions to all government departments participating in the Haj operation to mobilize their resources to extend the best possible services to pilgrims coming for Haj this year.

Al-Hazmi commended the cooperation between the various government departments and airline companies operating in the Kingdom. “This has opened a new horizon of cooperation to improve services,” the deputy DG said. He also commended the council’s role in boosting the Kingdom’s air transport industry.

The meeting reviewed preparations for the upcoming Haj season. Airline companies have been urged to follow the Haj-related instructions from the arrival of pilgrims until their departure to their home countries.
