In a statement on the occasion, Mr. Al-Dabbas wished greater successes for the Kingdom’s national flag carrier. “We hope SAUDIA would continue its good performance and implement all the optional conditions not only in Jeddah but all its stations in Saudi Arabia and abroad,” the IATA vice president said.
He said IATA’s Fast Travel Program has been widely recognized as an important initiative by the association to facilitate travel procedures of member airlines. The program’s basic conditions demand electronic issuance of boarding passes to passengers, allocation of special place to keep their luggage and the facility to change bookings using smart phones.
Mr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ghamdi, general manager of SAUDIA at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah said: “We have successfully completed the basic IATA conditions.” He said the Jeddah station’s winning of IATA green certificate for fast travel procedures is a big achievement for the airline. “SAUDIA will continue its efforts to implement the IATA program in all its stations.”
