Saudia is now ISO/IEC 27001 CERTIFIED

Saudia’s Information Technology Sector has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 on 21st May 2012. The certification was given by a major German certification agency, TUV-Nord. By this award Saudia becomes among more than 7,000 organizations worldwide and more than 14 companies in Saudi Arabia to win the prestigious quality certification.

On December 2012, SVIT has launched its ISO 27001 certification program with the help of its strategic partner Experton Group. An integral part of this program, SVIT has developed a comprehensive security strategy for the upcoming 3-4 years to further strengthen Information Security to an international-standard level that can sustain its edge within the progressing competitive IT world.

 

Goals:

The intended objectives of this certification program included:

  • Enhance and standardize our security service delivery model for SV and potential clients.
  • Improve SV Information Security standards at par with international organizations.

    Increase security measures to protect SV information assets.
  • Meet demands of passengers and partners to protect their information and meet information privacy laws.
  • Comply with various regulations mandated by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other international regulatory agencies.

 

Saudia’s IT Sector received ISO 9000 in 2000, which strengthened its capabilities to further enhance its quality programs.
