Travel documents

• Make sure you have a valid ticket to your destination.
• Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your travel date until your return date. For Saudi passport holders: a minimum validity of 3 months is required when traveling to Arab countries, and more than 6 months when traveling to other countries.
• Make sure your passport or travel document is in good condition and free from damage, tears, water exposure, scratches, or missing parts.
• Guests with nationalities that require self-issued entry visas must ensure that all visa information matches the passport details, including the correct nationality.
• If children are included in a parent’s passport, please ensure they are also included in the travel visa. If they are traveling without the primary passport holder, verify that the destination country allows entry without the primary passport holder.
• Some destinations require visas before travel. Please ensure you obtain the required visa and travel documents in advance, as processing times differ by country and citizenship.
• Some countries require entry, exit, or transit visas. Please review the requirements before travel and check the visa validity dates carefully. Some visas limit the number of permitted entries.
• Transit guests to their final destination must not have more than one stop in Saudi Arabia.
• For GCC citizens, the accepted travel document between GCC countries is a passport or national ID card (new version), in accordance with regulations.
• Make sure you carry your national ID card when traveling on domestic flights within the Kingdom.
• Web check-in and mobile check-in are available for all domestic and selected international flights.
• Please ensure you have a confirmed booking and a correct mobile number. ( More information for Hajj and Umrah visitors )
• Please ensure your ticket is issued within the required time limit to avoid automatic cancellation.
• Using SADAD payment services helps simplify your travel process.
• Please ensure your passport and visas are valid.
• If your travel plans change, please contact the sales center and cancel your reservation to avoid additional charges and to allow others the opportunity to travel.
• Please ensure you select your and your family's seats before your travel date.
• Please do not place valuables or important documents in your checked baggage.
• Travel restrictions should be reviewed through the ABSHER platform before travel by selecting "Generalization Report Query" to check for any conditions that may prevent travel.

Airport check-in

• Arriving early at the airport helps you secure seats for your family. Guests on domestic flights should arrive 2 hours before departure, and guests on international flights should arrive 3 hours before departure.
• If you require special services such as unaccompanied minor assistance, support for guests with disabilities, seniors, or families, please coordinate with Saudia staff at the airport. If an infant is traveling and is not included in the booking, you must arrive early to issue the ticket and present all required documents.
• Ask our staff about counters dedicated to guests with disabilities for completing check-in procedures.
• Make sure your name and address are placed securely on and inside your baggage.
• Remove all old baggage stickers and tags.
• For your safety, keep your baggage in your custody at all times.
• Do not accept baggage or parcels from unknown individuals.
• Ensure your baggage is securely closed and fastened.
• Electronic gates close at different times depending on the airport:
  - Jeddah (King Abdulaziz International Airport, Terminal 1): Domestic 45 minutes, International 50 minutes.
  - Riyadh (King Khalid International Airport): Domestic 30 minutes, International 30 minutes.
  - Madinah (Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport): Domestic 30 minutes, International 30 minutes.
  - Dammam (King Fahd International Airport): Domestic 30 minutes, International 45 minutes.
• Departure gates close 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
• The minimum connection time for guests holding Umrah visas, first-time work visas, or permits on international flights with a connection within the Kingdom is 3 hours. At King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the same minimum time applies for all arrivals holding Umrah visas or entering for the first time.
• Guests arriving in Saudi Arabia with travel documents allowing visa-on-arrival and continuing on domestic flights are advised to obtain the visa in advance to avoid missing their connecting flights. Visa-on-arrival processing takes place at the first point of entry.

Travel arrangements

Advance seat selection

You can select your preferred seat at the time of reservation on all domestic flights, and on all international flights for First and Business Class. Guests traveling in Guest Class can select seats on flights to Europe, the USA, Africa, the Middle East, and the Gulf region. Safety requirements must be followed when selecting seats next to emergency exits.

Guidance for visitors arriving in the United Kingdom

1. Complete your Advance Passenger Information (API) carefully and in good time.
2. If you are not a UK/EEA national, you must complete a landing card before arriving at border control.
3. Have your passport ready and remove any accessories such as glasses, hats, or scarves.
4. Families should approach passport control together.
5. If you are a UK/EEA national aged 18 or over with an electronic passport, you can use the ePassport gates.
6. Adults traveling with children under 18 who are not their own may be asked about their relationship to the child.
7. Non-EEA visitors may be asked simple questions by Border Force officers. Keep your accommodation details in your hand luggage.
8. Do not bring meat, dairy, or restricted food products. Ask Border Force officers if unsure.
9. It is illegal to bring endangered species or products such as ivory.
10. Restrictions apply to tobacco, alcohol, and gift amounts. Exceeding limits without declaration may result in confiscation.
11. Never bring counterfeit goods, illegal drugs, weapons, or prohibited items.
12. You must declare cash worth €10,000 or more when arriving from outside the EU.
13. Never provide false or misleading information or documents.
